Love this, there's so much here I want to talk more about! 'The belief that you can ever be fully knowable to yourself in this way is a convenient fantasy' is pretty much the content of almost all my conversations in therapy and reading this is another way of helping (me) to explore how not knowing isn't something to fear, or worse, to outlaw in our ways of knowing each other.
Great piece. I like to view desire as a vast mountain, with the greatest treasures sealed away in the darkest caves. I think you are right in saying it is foolish to expect one can ever fully conquer it. Some may claim they have, but often all they really did was take a guided tour along the lower levels, such as the kink spaces you describe.
Still, I like to explore the mountain of desire as much as I can, finding the journey more important than the destination. What always surprises me though, is how many choose to stay at the bottom. Sure, travelling is a luxury, but even among those with the means it seems rare. Are they not aware of the great riches this mountain holds? Or are they afraid of the wilderness, sticking to the marked paths only?
That’s why I always love hearing the stories from experienced mountaineers like you. Those who have been to the greater heights, found some treasures among the dangers, and confirm that yes, it is indeed worth exploring.
exploitation and manipulation ring true. Trust is more powerful than simple consent...it allow us to go further and drink more deeply. That "shes getting off because she knows that im getting off because she is getting off", and that spirals up and up.
With time and experience, I have found the most precious kink relationships involve mental and physical attraction, and trust... and those are damn few and far between.

Sometimes not knowing is the most thrilling thing of all. Thank you so much for reading 💜
Brava!
Without fear there is no excitement.
Unveil the mystery and the thrill is gone.
But reading about your sexuality will never get old!

Ill add, like whispering “what hole should I enjoy first?” to a submissive who's explicit trust has been fully earned.
